It seems that summer may be sliding away, as the thermometer said 49F this morning. It’s alway a little bittersweet. There were too many things on my summer list that I didn’t get to. It seemed to evaporate this year. Yet, I also can’t help but celebrate the arrival of fall. I love these cool mornings, crisp air, combined with the brilliant colors of the trees. I’m going to make time to get out and enjoy it! We returned Monday night from the Spring/Summer Markets in NYC. It felt much more like summer there! Hot and muggy. We saw some great lines, both new and known! Now comes the hard part of selecting what’s right for Brightwater’s Summer '23 offerings....
I’m trying to figure out how it got to be darn near the middle of August, and how I’m going to cram in the rest of my summer bucket list! Maybe the smart thing to do is forget the list, and just enjoy! The cooler nights make for better sleeping and the rain has been good for my tomatoes! We got back late Tuesday from the first of the summer 2023 markets. This time it was the Chicago Collective. I think it’s the best Men’s Market in the country. We flew in Saturday evening and had appointments hourly on Sunday, Monday and part of Tuesday. It’s always fun to see what’s new for Spring/Summer ’23, as well as meet up...
Don't miss the Coolibar Trunk Show — Thursday 1 - 7 p.m. and Friday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. We will have an expanded collection of Coolibar clothing for ladies and gents, plus sips and bites at the shop!
Hi All! How are you? Doing well I hope? I’m pretty darn good, too. I am probably one of the few folks who's been excited and happy that the temps have fallen and the snow has arrived! It could be said that I have a vested interest in the temps dropping, with all of my cold weather offerings in the shop, but I do like the cold and snow! Later today I’m headed up for the third and hopefully final attempt at getting pine boughs and greens for the holidays. We had to cut the last trip short and didn’t get a chance to gather them. It will be more fun now that the weather’s colder! What’s really got me excited is the new...
How are you? I hope you’re doing well as we finally shift into weather that feels like fall! As I sit at my desk in the loft at home, I can hear the wind through the trees outside. I do love that sound. Remember last year? We already had 7 inches of snow by now! As you know, I love this season in Minnesota. Cool frosty mornings and crisp sunny afternoons. Good clothes-wearing weather! I happen to have a vested interest in the cooler temps, as Brightwater is stocked and ready for sweater weather! I think I’ve got one on the best inventories of sweaters for fall and winter that I’ve had in years. From cozy cashmere pieces from White + Warren, Kokun, and Kinross, to classics from Dale of...
