Spring has sprung at Brightwater!

Look Book 2020 Launch

Bill Damberg Bayfield Wisconsin, Landrover, in Parajumpers

How are you? I’m writing from my desk in Brightwater. It’s back in the corner. It’s always a mess, so the door is closed most of the time. The snow has once again returned, and I can’t say I’m too disappointed. I do love all the seasons here in Minnesota. As I’ve said many times, “There’s no bad weather, just bad clothes.”

That saying particularly rings home to me today as I have a copy of the new Brightwater 2020 Look Book in front of me. It’s crammed full of photos that we took earlier this year, the first weekend in March, up in Bayfield, WI. Great friends wearing some of this years best winter pieces. We tested them, and they work. As I knew they would!

That weekend was amazing. In many ways. It was the last time that we all were together before COVID19 descended. We hiked, skied, biked, enjoyed great food and spirits, and hung out around a roaring fireplace. It was magical.

When you get your hands on one of the new Look Books, (available at the shop this weekend!) you’ll see that it really is a celebration of one of the few things we can still do, which is get outdoors! Life is better outside and we still have that to embrace. Brightwater’s got the goods that will make the outdoors so much less daunting. Warm and toasty is easy with the right clothing!

The Look Books will hit mailboxes next week, but if you're not on our mailing list, or if you want to be one of the first to get your hands on a copy, swing by the shop this weekend and grab one. Inside you'll find a highlight reel of the newest offerings available from Brightwater. The entire Look Book collection of clothing and goods, as well as many other amazing pieces are now up in our online shop, so make sure you take another visit if you haven't recently. Both in the Book and on our website, you'll also find a recipe for an amazing Mezcal Negroni from my good friend Erik Eastman, @easyandcompany. You need to try it. It’s so good!

The Look Book always comes together so well because of all the many great folks that converge to make it happen. I want to especially thank Eliesa Johnson, @eliesajohnson, for capturing the beauty of our weekend through her photography. She’s wonderful! I also need to give a shout out to Paul Buttenhoff, @bothrops1, for working tirelessly with Erik to make sure we were so well fed and libated!

As the snow is falling I always feel grateful for another season at Brightwater. I’m thankful for all of your support too. Swing by Brightwater and say, “Hi!”, grab a Look Book, and peruse the new collections that are now in Brightwater. I’ll be great to see you.

As always, with my best, and lots of love. Stay safe!

- Bill
