New All Over

Once again, I’m writing from the kitchen table in the cottage on Ely Lake. It’s a gray rainy morning, but the fire’s crackling behind me. It definitely feels like fall, as the yard is golden with leaves, the trees are more and more barren, and the lake takes on the gray hues of the sky. Good sweater weather!

My daughter Hannah is here, too. Always so great when we get to spend time together! She’ll head back to Big Sky, MT in a few days, as the snow’s beginning to fly there. It’s actually in the forecast up here, later this week. I don’t know that I’m ready for it! But that being said, Brightwater is definitely ready for cooler, and even snowier, weather. There’s a pretty great collection of sweaters this season. One of my new finds is a cashmere company called Kinross. Soft and warm, the cashmere is beautiful and cozy! Originating in Kinross, Scotland, they really know cashmere. To quote Kinross, “No machine has the sensitivity of human touch. From the combing of the goats to the final garment inspection, our garments are made by hand and approved by touch.” Swing by to feel for yourself!

The guy’s side has been filling up with sweaters  and shirts from Alan Paine and Billy Reid. I’ve talked about both before, and their quality and styling continue to impress me! My favorite from Alan Paine is a button up, Lambswool cardigan that almost has a blazer feel. Billy Reid’s pick is a light weight waffle knit crew neck sweater. So light and yet warm.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t let you know that we have the largest collection of Parajumpers parkas in MN, with many new arrivals now in the shop! From lightweight puffer vests and coats, to big, heavy, “Winter won’t bother me,” parkas.  The selection is terrific now, but they are selling quickly. Now’s the time to stop by, take a look, try them on, and feel which one is best for you. In full disclosure, with Parajumpers, there is very little reorder ability. Once they are gone, they're gone!

Lastly, before I head off to the list of chores, I want to let you know the Brightwater’s brand new website launched this weekend! Its got a new look and is crammed full of my hand selected items. I do say that I’m very proud of it, and very proud of the work that Anna did in getting this launched! Please follow this link and take a look. More product is being added daily, too.

I’m also very grateful for all or your support in the last few weeks. I believe the combination of cooler weather and cool weather clothing in Brightwater has encouraged you to come in and shop. Sales are getting stronger and stronger. We’re continuing our sanitizing protocol and I'm proud of all of you for masking up, adhering to the social distancing, and coming in to shop! We will get through this together.
