Hi All,
How are you? It’s finally feeling like it’s going to warm up a bit. April was a cool one. It’s nice to see the flowering trees in full bloom! They look so beautiful in front of the house. The trees on Water Street are budding out too. Sure signs that the warmth of summer isn’t too far off! Let’s hope May brings more warmth and sun!
May also brings Mother’s Day. I tip my hat to each of you moms, grandmas, and mother-figures out there! You do an amazing job, and we’re all grateful for you! Although my mom has been gone for over 10 years, she was quite an amazing woman. I miss her. She never missed a thing, was smart and always challenged us to do and be better. She had style, and always dressed well. Although she never got to see Brightwater, I know she’s proud.
We’ve been busy unpacking quite a bit of new merchandise for moms too. New products for ladies from Faherty and Amundsen Sports, as well as Ecru and G1 Goods. There’s a pretty new collection from Bellerose, a brand from Belgium that has really been well-received, as well as a new grouping of linen boyfriend shirts and shirt dresses from Emily Phillips. I met Emily at a small show in New York, a few seasons ago. She’s a dear, and her shirts and dresses are outstanding! Emily sews all of her products in Nashville, TN. We’ve also received a new shipment of Dovetail pants and overalls. If the lady in your life likes to work in the yard, these pants are perfect. The fit is outstanding and they are just plain cool! As you well know, I could go on and on about all the lines in Brightwater.
And although it's all about moms this weekend, I will say that there are lots of new things on the mens side too!
I can’t wait to get back to Market and find more new brands and good folks making good things for Brightwater! I’m hoping that we all can continue to get vaccinated, so we can get back to some semblance or normalcy soon.
It’s looking like a nice forecast for the Mother’s Day weekend. High’s near 60°F and mostly sunny! If you’re out and about, please swing through Excelsior and say,”Hi!” — I always appreciate seeing you!
Thanks for reading. Stay safe, be kind, and have a Happy Mother’s Day!
Lots of love,
- Bill
