How are you? It’s hard to believe that November is right around the corner. With temperatures in the 60’s, it feels more like September. Yet, I've been busily filling up the shop with cold weather apparel! The last few weeks have been nose to the the grindstone at Brightwater. There’s so much new fall and winter product that I’ve barely been keeping up with getting it all out! Lots of new cashmere sweaters for men and women, plus I've got one of the best selection of Parajumpers jackets and parkas than I’ve had in a long time. Brightwater’s fall offering of Bogner has been well received, as have the Barbour collections. Folks have been loving the new Hartford 1979 for men and women, as well as stalwarts like White + Warren, Relwen, Kokun, Ecru, and Gitman Vintage. I’d like to encourage you to swing by and take a good perusal of all the great new fall products. I truly think you’ll love them as much as I do!

Between going to markets, adding new product to the shop, and taking care of our wonderful customers, I've been so busy these days with Brightwater, I've come to the decision that I need to add more help here. I’m looking for people who love clothes as much as I do, and who love to help folks find great new pieces for their wardrobes. I’m offering both part time and full time positions. If you have a passion for clothing and people, you’re who I’m looking for! I’m offering competitive hourly wages and above standard rates for full time folks. Plus, I'm giving a $250 store credit upon hiring and at 6 months of employment! You must be willing to work some weekend and evening hours, but overall scheduling is flexible. If this sounds like a good fit for you, please reach out to me. My contact info is below.

I'm planning to sneak away from the shop in a week or so to head up to the cottage for my annual forage to get the greenery for the holidays at Brightwater. I’ll head back to the same spots my dad took me to as a kid. Norway pine at this spot, white pine there, jack pine down this road, and cedar right down by the lake at the cottage. It’s a day or two that I relish. Crisp and clear or gray and snowy, it doesn’t matter. It’s just being outside and then returning to the cottage for a warm meal and a sit by the fire. I’m pretty lucky!

Make sure you get outside and enjoy this beautiful season, too! Remember, Excelsior’s downtown businesses will be welcoming trick-or-treaters from 10am to 2pm tomorrow, Saturday the 29th. It’s always so much fun watching all of the little ones dressed up in amazing costumes. Whether you're with your kids, or just coming to Excelsior to shop Water Street, it surely will be a great day to be out and about.

Be kind. Enjoy each other, and have some fun this weekend!

Lots of love to you,

Bill
