Spring has sprung at Brightwater!

A New Year + Winter Clearance in the Shop

Welcome to 2023! I alway ask myself, how did it get here so quickly? Seems it was just 2021. Yet, bring it on! Let’s make 2023 the best one yet.

We started the year up at the cottage. We drove up to find mountains of snow and the cottage warm and waiting for us. We relaxed, cooked good foods, enjoyed some wine in front of the fireplace and took time to get outside and enjoy it. We were so fortunate to have nice warmer weather! Last year we woke on New Years morning to the thermometer reading -39F. This year it was 25F. Much more suitable for enjoying the outdoors. I even managed to get a few afternoons of skiing in at Giants Ridge in Biwabik. It’s the place where I grew up skiing. It’s grown a lot since then! I believe it’s now one of the best ski areas in MN. I’m grateful have it 20 minutes from the cottage! Unfortunately our time up there had to end and we returned Tuesday through the snowmageddon! Roads were clear through Forest Lake. You know what the last 50 were like!

Back now, and I’m feeling that we’ve dug out both at home and here at the shop. We’ve completed inventory and now it’s time to start my Winter Clearance today, Saturday the 7th! I’ve begun marking down much of the great Brightwater merchandise — including a growing selection of cashmere sweaters, great tops, jackets, vests, and parkas on both then men’s and women’s sides. Swing by early for the best selection, but keep popping back in as I’ll be adding more to the clearance daily! Besides, it’s alway great to catch up!

I’d be remiss if I didn’t tell you that January brings The Lake Minnetonka Klondike Dog Derby into front and center of my world!  We are so stoked and excited to bring the 2023 Klondike on February 3-4th, here in Excelsior.  I’m sure most of you know how hard we’ve worked, and how great this event is. Check it out here. I’m also going to say that we are always looking for volunteers to help make this even better. Please check out the website for opportunities! If you are feeling you’d really like to dig into the Klondike, please reach out to me.  We’re looking for a few key leaders that would be willing to “own,” specific aspects and projects within the event!

I’m going to get back to marking Brightwater merechandise down! Please swing by, say hi, and take a look around! I’d love to see you.

As always, please be kind to each other.  Take care of yourself, and get out and enjoy the snow!
