Klondike Founders 2022

Hi All,

Welcome to February. Time doesn’t seem to be going any slower this winter. Between Brightwater, The Klondike Dog Derby and some ski racing, the days are flying by!

Thanks to all of you that have stopped by Brightwater and taken advantage of the Winter Clearance Sale! I just marked down more of my remaining winter items so you can save even more and so we can make room for spring apparel that will be arriving soon. Sweaters, sportswear, jackets and outerwear are now up to 60% off. It’s a great time to grab a few new pieces, as we know winter is far from over. Seems to me that we’ve had a greater number of below zero days than the past few years… or maybe I’m just feeling colder as I get older! Wouldn’t a new cashmere sweater or parka feel good on those frigid days? You’ve heard me say it before, “There’s no bad weather, just bad clothes.”

Actually I’m glad we’ve had those cold bursts as it's made the ice on Lake Minnetonka great and has allowed us to stock pile snow for the Klondike. If you partook in the activities at the first Klondike Dog Derby in 2020, you know what a magical event this was! If not, you owe it to yourself to put it on your calendar for the 4th & 5th. This is a world-class sled dog race happening right here in Excelsior and on Lake Minnetonka. We’ve got over 30 teams form as far away as Alaska and Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, all coming here to compete for the $40,000 purse. It’s so amazing to watch these super athletes—the sled dogs—get so excited to charge down the middle of snow-covered Water Street! The opening ceremony and start is on just out front of Brightwater! Find all the details on our website, klondikedogderby.com, and be sure to follow along on social media all week for important announcements (@klondikedogderby).

While in Excelsior for the Klondike Dog Derby, remember to swing in Brightwater and check out our terrific sales or just warm up!

As always, take care of yourselves. Get outside a bit, be kind, and I’ll hopefully see you at the race!

Lots of love to all of you,
- Bill
