Spring has sprung at Brightwater!

Happy 2024, Brightwater Winter Sale, Klondike Dog Derby Update

Hi All,

Happy New Year! Let’s make 2024 the best one yet, shall we? My year was off to a good start as Deb and I were up at the cottage, with the fire warming our bodies and souls. We got a dusting of snow on New Year’s Eve, which made it cozier. Not enough to cover the grass, but still pretty! I did make it out to Giant’s Ridge, in Biwabik, MN, for a day of skiing. The snow was okay on the runs, it was just weird to go up the lifts with no snow under them! I met up with Bethany Hway and her family, who are getting started into the ski world! It was great to see her kids take to it like naturals! Bethany helps me with strategy, is the mastermind behind Brightwater’s social media, and puts together our annual look books. She amazing! It was good to get out together and make a few turns before I jump on the race course for The Ski Challenge early next week.
Back at the cottage we relaxed, went for walks, and caught up on naps and reading. Of course we cooked great foods and enjoyed some good wine. I even made a Cedar Sazerac with Eric’s recipe from this year’s look book. So good! It was a great time up north to refresh.

We were back down New Year’s Day to get back to the shop and begin inventory. It's a task I never look forward to, but it's part of the game of retail. The shop still looks good with a great selection of sweaters, shirts, tops, parkas and so much more. Once inventory is done this week, I’m going to start my semi-annual clearance sale! You know the quality of Brightwater — and it's now on sale! There will be savings throughout the shop! Up to 40% off on the great Brightwater pieces you love! It’s starting this Saturday, so I’m pretty sure you ought to stop by this weekend to see what you can find. A little after-Christmas present? To you, from you!

With this being a weirder winter than I can remember, we made a hard decision to cancel the 2024 Klondike Dog Derby. The Board of Directors had to make the decision, but Mother Nature forced our hand. With Lake Minnetonka still being open water and hardly a dusting of snow, for the safety of all and integrity of our organization, it just can’t happen. Sad as we are, we’ve already shifted gears to thinking about the 2025 Klondike Dog Derby! Mark your calendar’s for February 8th, 2025.

I’m going to keep this one brief, I need to get into the shop and get finished with inventory so I can get things set for Saturday’s sale! Swing by this weekend, take a peruse around, and see what you can find. I’d love to see you and hear how your world is. So be kind, be cheerful and grant grace wherever you go.

I hope to see you soon. Lots of love to you!
- Bill
