Spring has sprung at Brightwater!

Festive Gifting Stocked in the Shop

The holiday season is upon us and I’m hoping that in the midst of the busyness, you are taking time to relax and enjoy a bit of quiet and solitude. We all know it’s going to get crazy!

The Brightwater elves have bee busy, too! We’ve got the shop looking festive and have a slew of new offerings for the gifting season. From new flannel shirts and sweaters, to new shipments of parkas to keep you warm and cozy, the shop is stocked with all the things needed to finish off your holiday shopping! We also have a wonderful collection of small gifts and stocking stuffers. Some of my favorites are gloves and mitts from Hestra. Hestra of Sweden has been making gloves since the 1930’s. I've sold lots of brands of gloves over the years and I still believe they are none better than Hestra! Another favorite gifting item are the hats from Mischa Lampert. They are one-of-a-kind, always hand-spun, knit and hand-made in New York. We also have wonderful apothecary goods from Ursa Major of Vermont, Fulton and Roark of Winston Salem, NC, and Jao Face and Body, based in Philadelphia, PA. They’ve all been in my use long before they were carried in Brightwater!

There are a collection of products for the home, too. We have wonderful candles (some made in St. Paul and some in Nashville), and a fun collection of tableware and cheese knife sets from the Laguoile region of France. My goal is to have you say, "Wow, I didn’t expect to see that here!”  As you know, I could go on and on, but the best thing to do is swing By Brightwater and see for yourself!

Another fun thing we are doing is participating in The Northern Express, a winter holiday festival at Camp Tanadoona, just south of Excelsior. It’s a very cool event that will be sure to entertain the whole family. We’ve teamed up with Amundsen Sports of Norway to create a cool cabin at The Northern Express that celebrates both Brightwater's and Amundsen’s love of having fun outside — in summer or winter! We have a collection of Amundsen’s offerings on display that are available for purchase at Brightwater.

I’m going to sign off here. I’ve got a list of duties that I need to get at — let alone my Christmas list that will be filled by shopping in Excelsior! There’s no better place than Water Street to get all of your holiday shopping done!  As I’ve said many times, we have the finest four blocks of independent shops and restaurants in the Twin Cities. Each manned daily by the owners who are also experts in the field. Come see for yourself!

As always, please be kind, be thoughtful, be respectful and find joy in the upcoming holidays.

Lots of love,
- Bill
